SPIRIT LIKE WATER. Amongst the cacophony of modern life, we seek moments of tranquility and silence. It's only when our mind and spirit are in this state of stillness that we can see the world clearly, without prejudice and distortion. In Zen Buddhism, this state of being is known as mizu no kokoro - 'a spirit like water' - as only when a body of water is calm and undisturbed can it give a true reflection of its surroundings.
